Default Unique opportunity to webdesign for a good cause with added bonuses

Let me just start by saying straight up that there is NO money involved in this, but that it is a great opportunity to add a very impressive line to your CV or client list, and help a good cause at the same time. It will definitely get you a lot of media attention (European TV, newspapers, etc).

Here's the situation:

There is an organisation based in France called World Tricot. They make accessories and only employ women with problems, some of which have been beaten or are seeking asylum. The role of the organisation is to get these women back on their feet and capable of sustaining themselves in life. They have been featured in the French and British press (such as in the Guardian newspaper), and on some TV stations (such as France 3), as well as in documentaries.

So what happened, and why do they need your help?

World Tricot is used as an outsource for many big names in the fashion industry. They ended up working for Chanel, and had to let their other clients go in order to support the Chanel work load. One day, however, Channel decided to quit working with World Tricot because they found someone cheaper. However, the accessories made by World Tricot and their women ended up at a Channel exhibit in Tokyo.. meaning that Channel stole the idea and dumped the organisation that made it.

They are paying a lawyer in order to take Chanel to court for intellectual property theft and breach of contract. Chanel is counter-suing for tarnishing their image!

World Tricot now has no more clients and will most probably stop existing unless you can help. They need a website with a good design that gets people wanting to support this organisation, as well as possibly a store so that they can sell their fair-trade products through the Internet and keep supporting the women.

If you think that you have what it takes, then contact me or reply here. You will be helping a very good cause, have an impressive entry for your CV or client list, and I'm sure that you can add a link to your own site at the bottom ("designed by") and benefit from the fury of media attention that this is getting. Please give samples of your work!

Thank you very much indeed
