it's no coincidence that unlimited bandwith comes from cheap hosts, and that expensive hosts usually say the exact amount u can use before your account gets cut off or you get charged extra.
use google for complaints against the company, check out webhosting forums to see how their reputation in the community and among users are like.
Zach, thanks for the explanation. I've always been suspicious of the unlimited claim, but did not have any clear idea of the details factoring into it. It does not surprise me AT ALL to learn that they simply toss the domains that are using high bandwidth.
I would at least check forum, Webmaster forums, for reputation, uptime and so on!
