I recently have started to look very closely into Domains and Parking. I have read loads and loads of forum postings, articles, blogs etc. I'm left with these thoughts and questions. I hope someone can answer some of them.

I know that Domain Parking is a big business but to what extent? Do you need to automatically have proven traffic to that website for the parking to be worth it? Is it true that some companies will promote your domains (like WhyPark) or put self generating content on it so your parked domains get registered and therefore attract traffic?

Is it as simple as buying 100 domains (or more), parking them on Bodis or WhyPark and waiting for that apparently "easy" $1 a day per domain profit?

I currently have a little over 20 domains that range from excellent in their niches to pretty vague. I'm planning on buying well over 100 but will need confirmation from a known Domain pro that it is a viable business. I hope I made myself clear and await for your answers with great anticipation.

Thanks guys,

From my experience on parking domains so far, I'm lucky if I make 50 cents a month. I have some traffic that comes through my domain, but hardly anybody clicks. I made 16 cents last month. That was probably because I had a pop up ad that came up when somebody comes to my website and they probably clicked on it by mistake.

The only way you're going to make $1 a day is to generate traffic by developing the site. Create a web blog site with some interesting stuff and some banners. With some promoting and stuff, I'm sure $1 a day will happen in no time...
thanks that helps a lot.. Smile anyone else have some sort of input to add to the thread. Thanks in advance!
I have never had much luck with parked sites. I have had plenty of luck with developed sites. But parking hasn't been good to me...
Feel free to look at my domains to see how they look.

These are parked with Sedo.com

And this one is parked with Namedrive.

I use to have all of mine parked at Namedrive and their layout looks alot better than others. For some reason the 411finder doesn't look as good as the other ones use to look. I guess it depends on what category you put your domain in.

I placed the 2 under sedo because I read somewhere that when you have the domains up for auction there and they sell, they charge you alot of money because you didn't have the domain parked with them. Sedo only gives you 2 cents a click, but namedrive gives you up to 16 cents on one click.
Parking sounds like it wouldn't yield the best results. With development you have more to offer when it's time to sell, which should mean more money in the long run.
Here's a better example of what namedrive does.

This is a new parked page that I just bought. Notice how the content fits the subject. Also it doesn't look like a parked page either... http://www.goparklax.com
David,

I haven't used namedrive in sometime. I noticed that goparklax.com requires 2 clicks instead of 1 in order for you to get paid. Do you find that this converts just as well?

Zach
Namedrive suppose to be one click ads. In the settings section they have a place where you can choose one click ads or default. I believe I get paid per click, unless there's something that namedrive hasn't told me.
