Hello,

I have a .mobi domain that I want to develop. I want to sell ringtones on it.

Does anybody have experience selling ringtones? Also could you suggest a website that is .mobi friendly?
I know my server Sprint does that sort of thing.. If your looking for an example, check out Sprintpcs.com in their music area or something...
Try looking through places like Pocket Fuzz to see what is out there. I have never sold ringtones, much less downloaded them, but if yours are unique enough it might be a worthwhile venture.
Good luck! All I know is that ringtones pages are the most visited and most proffitable on the net, specially if you have very good variety. I read that somewhere. I am no expert!
I've had a few licensed downloads of production music under the ringtone category, but I'm not very knowledgeable about the business in general.

I'd like to find a way to offer some from a free site, just to experiment. Does anyone know of a site where I could do that?

Just check your pricing while experimenting. There are so many ringtone sites that you might have to seriously undercut the market at first!

Couldn't agree more! You should have below the market prices to get the huge market teenagers represent. And once you got them, then you can increase little by little... There's too much competition out there!
That's great advice about offering a lower price, at first, to gain business. It is a very popular domain. So you have to be able offer it a lower scale so it's not too scary.
