Apparently the $160,000 for a chinese domain auction is a record. Looks like the highest priced domain of the group sold for around $49,000.

Whoa that's a....really big sum of money. I guess it shows that the reselling business is still a real working business Smile
I think it also tells us a lot about the money being invested in China. That, to me, is more interesting than what it says about the domain name market itself.
I didn't see who bought them. Was it a western or a chinese investor?
That's alot of money for a domain in Bejing. The growth of business is supposed to be quite astonishing and it's brounght China forward in it's standing as a country.
$160.000 for umpc.cn and umpc.com.cn....that`s alot.
The reason that the amount for that Chinese domain is so notewothy is that it's another sign of China's successful growth in every area. The stock market guys love them too.
That's true; whether China is evolving toward the best or the worst, no one can't deny that China is continuously changing.
why the double tld on umpc.com.cn? How does that work?
Wow that's a lot. What are some examples of chinese domains that have sold for a lot?
