In the early years, I venture to say, when people did a lot of type-ins, the shorter urls were supreme. AOL, EBAY..etc... they are quick, and easy to remember. If you wanted to advertise them off-line, you wanted something they could remember for when they were infront of the computer.

But now, we have search engines, and bookmarks. (favorites for IE users) Now you just search for something, and visit the sites... and if you like it, you bookmark it... never having to remember the darn URL.
I think the shorter the name the better. Simpler names are more easily remembered. It would be a more profitable site, and worth it in the end.
Moreover the 3 letter .com names are no more available for registration so the prices are going high.
Is the reason for that because everyone wants those names? The demand for three letter domains will probably continue to rise.

The price is not that higher. You can find three letter domains for lower $XXX too.

I've never seen any that low, atleast without a number. If you find them that low, let me know again Smile
I agree three letter domains are easier to remember, but I don't see them as being so much greater than other domains. Catchy phrases are easier for me to remember.
I am a new member, just say hey to everybody here. I hope will be a lot of things to learn here...
