What are your monthly budget? What about disk space, bandwidth, OS (Linux or Windows)?
I've been with Hostforweb.com for just under a year...support is good, they always respond within a few hours, and often within a few minutes. Servers are pretty good!

Use shared plans from decent providers like KVChosting.net and QHoster.com.
They are, quite simply, the best. All questions are thoroughly answered by knowledgeable professionals and, believe it or not, they get back to you when they say they will.

Give hosting.uk a try - they are well-known and reliable. Technical support issues are resolved in a timely manner.
They have been the only web host that I have ever hosted with and they have never given me any reason to want to change services.

Vpsget.com will be worth trying. Very good with their standard products. They offer nice shared hosting accounts in Europe.
Their reliability and price makes up for it though as it is very seldom that I do require to contact their support desk.

Quality shared plans are available form QHoster.com and Avansit.com.
I would highly recommend them to anyone but especially if you're on a budget. I've found them to be very reasonably priced compared to other providers. Tech support is very helpful and friendly.
