Wait lists?

Have you paid a fee to sign up for a wait list on domain names ...if they become available? I just wonder about whether a fee is worth it?

It doesn't seem to me like it would be, simply because there is no guarantee you would get the domain. The current owner might not ever let it go, and if they do, who knows how many other people are signed up, waiting to grab it just like you are. Or do that only let 1 person sign up for each domain?

Also, it's the fee idea which bothers me because you won't get that money back and could be investing it on other names which you know are available. I guess if you were sort of obsessed with getting some specific names or like names, it would be an interesting trial to see though.
