Default Multiple domain owners

It is interesting to read how some on this board have 100s of domains. For those that have several how do you manage them? I am still very new at all of this and wonder what sort of work goes into keeping everything going.

Simple needs usually work best:

1. Keep an excel sheet of names, dates, registrars, etc.

2. Sign up for a free account at domaintools.com and use their alert thingie.

Those are at the top of my head.

This is rather a challenge, but consider consolidating them with your preferred
domain registrar.

I agree with that suggestion especially. Between us, my partner and I have about six domains. Though not nearly as many as some folks here, they still require a bit of tracking. Having them all with one registrar is a big help.

Thanks for the link and the great tips! I would tend to think simple is better, no need to complicate the process if you don't have to. Will definitely check out domaintools.

We keep up with 30-40. We use SimpleURL and have them all linked under one main account. SimpleURL will email us when one is nearing expiration, so that makes that quite simple. Plus, the couple times we've needed to change IP addresses, it was very simple to go to ONE place to change IP on ALL domains.

Do you buy and sell frequently or do you hang on to your urls for the most part?

We haven't sold any, to date. We really haven't any we'd *want* to sell, at the moment.

Well we used to offer a tool for organising/managing domains here on Domain Social but it got messed up after a VB update. Working to get it back working... lots of coding. Won't be long.

Otherwise i use excel!
