With all the court cases and injunctions and what not, is it worth it buying domain names that are close to existing, popular domains?

Well good luck with that but im still very skeptical about domains that are close to already well established ones.

Well it would have been interesting if you were a fan of "Typo" addresses, but being a .info, I think it won't work as much :\

I was not typo fan actually.
But when i was trying to get a domain to register for the first time i think .info do not matter at all. I thought thats good like .com
But not actually.
I dont like this domain actually.

I think that the market for .info must be much more harder to convince people toward...as the appeal is a bit less. Maybe in the future

yeah.
not only info.
People do not care about other like .be and .cc
I saw one guys selling good 4 letter .cc in less than 1 dollor.
If that was .com then that would be sold on more than 500$.
