Shared plan + DDoS protection

Shared plan is in need (plan to use it from avansit.com) and DDoS protection from ddos-guard.net a5re to my liking and I wonder if my choice is good?

I always look for a few things: Reliability, Support/Knowledge, Price - you get what you pay for really.

Although Canspace.ca is the only host i have ever needed to use, they still provide top quality hosting.
Their prices are extremely competitive, but also their staff are extremely helpful.
