About two years ago I went ahead and scanned through a load of four letter domains and kept the best ones (on .com and .net extensions). At the time they were worth very little over reg fee, and now they are in the low hundreds (some mid or high because they are dictionary names). I would expect the same to happen with non .com, net and org extensions, but probably slightly slower.
I'm not so sure about L-L-L, it looks terrible and it's a hassle to type. Mind you, you never know and each acronym has a massive amount of demand behind it.. I wouldn't be suprised if they do start to creep up, and the maybe accelerate later down the line if domainers catch on.
