My bad, then, because AFAIK the word "insure" means to either take some
precautions or get insurance. Something along those lines.
However, my point is you don't get "insured" by that ICANN surcharge. While
the registrar definitely takes precautions to ensure the domain name will not
be taken away, we end users ought to also take precautions as well to make
sure that doesn't happen.
Your registrar's registration contract defines those responsibilities and limits.
