Hyphen domain?
#11
I was never a big fan of domains with hyphens. I think its really hard for some people to remember to put the hyphen in. This could result in lost sales. I would personally stay away from them.

Hypens are good domains if you are going for search engine rankings. If you are trying to promote a domain name for people to remember and type in, a hypen is one of the worst things you can do.

Personally, I prefer to use sites that have no hyphen in the domain name.

I personally, like the hyphenated domains. I like the look of them and the break up of the words. I have one hyphenated domain and 6 nonhyphenated. I never even thought how a search engine looks at it...hmmm.

I find hyphen domains are much easier to remember (don't ask me why). It depends on what the name is really, like andreww38 stated above.

yea, I like the hyphenated domains, however I think visually only one hyphen should be in a domain.

The person who has a domain with a hyphen has what they wanted if someone does remember it easier. That could be true but you should try it and see if you like the result. (I have some hyphen ones at work.)

It really just depends. One of our past customers had the domain theb-b-qshop.com - and if you think about it, it makes sense to have the two hyphens in it.

Another example of a hyphen making it clearer would be in the case of mommyslap... if the owner meant Mommy's Lap, then a hyphen mommys-lap would keep people from reading it as Mommy Slap... see?

It's really hard to remember hyphenated domains. I personally don't like such domains. However, I have a few of those babies.

Sorry to be blunt...but I think it's rather silly to think that hyphen will do something good in search engine rankings.
